Something really unfortunate happened to me and my friends, Huang Bin, Desmond and Chao Xu.We were in one group for the Projects' Day Competition.We were at first not really sure of what we should do and we decided to do the topic on rest.Unfortunately we got rejected and could not enter the semi-finals.But that's not all.
We then decided to do a shoe web but it was somehow a little alike to another project so we decided to do a project on books.Huang Bin and I worked on the project while Desmond and Chao Xu edited it and looked for some information on books.We really thought we might have a chance to get through the second pre-lim.
When the day came, we thought we will definitely get in to the semi-finals but the judges said our projct is somehow tolen from our consortium reading programme when we said we can get some help from our friends because of the new reading programme.One look at the judges, we knew our chances are not high and in the end, we failed to get through.

But we will never give up and will treat this as a lesson that we will never forget!

Oh no!I am having my history test very soon.It will test us on the beginning of World War 2.I am quite afraid as this time, I am going to write essays.This is the first time I am doing that so I am very nervous and felt a little scared.This test is my last test so I am going to give it all I have and I am going to score in this test.Furthermore, our history teacher gave us a debate in three small groups and we will earn OP too.
The topic is also about World War 2 so I prepared some questions and answers so I can be more prepared for the debate and the test.Before the debate begin, our teacher separated us, the small group, into two groups.One side will be responsible for asking question while the other side will answer the questions.I feel that I am very lucky as I prepared more answers than questions so when I was in the answering group, I was delighted.
When the debate begins, my friend threw out lots of questions which us, the answering group, could not handle them.I answered some of them while my two other classmates too answered a few questions.After the debate, our teacher announced the results for our OP and I was lucky enough to get three marks!
I thought I am definitely going to do well but our english teacher wanted us to write our descriptive writing on the same day as my test.This is also the first time I am writing a descriptive essay and it needs lots of figurative description which I lack a lot.This made me panic a little as I need to have some time to prepare for this essay.The good thing is that we can copy some parts of other people's essay and put it in our essay.

How I wish I can score well for both things!

Our histery teacher, Mr Ong, gave us an ACE project to do.He let us watch a video about coolies and demonstrated to us how we should carry out our project.The ACE project is about interviewing someone about Singapore's past.This project is quite difficult for me as I do not have any tools to interview others.Futhermore, I am also not sure who to interview.
I thought it over but still could not think of a way to complete the project.I went to get help from my parents and they said they would help me to borrow a MP3 from one of their friends to interview someone.I was delighted but still I must hand in the project afew days later and I still do not know who to interview and that someone must be fifty years old or above.I, in the end, interviewed a neighbour.

I hope my ACE project can get me more marks for my History!

It was really exciting as we, sec ones, were finally having sabbaticals! During the last assembly,Mr Stevensu explained to us on how to bid for the courses for sabbaticals. It was really exciting as this is the first time sec ones are having sabbaticals.There were many courses to choose from and I had a tough time deciding on one course.
At first, I wanted to get a history course but remembered that Mr Ong had already prepared an ACE activity for us.So I thought of getting a chinese course.But apparently, I feel that chinese ACE is easier to score so I decided to choose another course.Finally, I decided to go to an IT course and place a science course as my second course.But it seems that to many people voted for the course I bided so I ended up having the science course.
I really hope for sabbaticals week to come faster so that I can enjoy the course!

Last consortium assembly, many students of ispark(including me) did not buy ties.What makes us more anxious was that most of them was from 1N and we were afraid that Mr Quek might scold us.We quickly ran over to the office to buy ties.To our horror, it seems that the ties were out of stock and we could not purchase the ties.This will be a big lesson to me that I must prepare beforehand.

During the assembly, I received an award for winning third place for the inter consortium chinese speech.I was quite shocked as there was also sec twos participating in the competition.But Joseph of 1L did better than me by winning second place in the competiton.What an achievement for sec ones.The award I received was a chinese book.

Later on, we went for a malay feast, incoperate with the Racial Harmony day.We had to use hands to eat and I wasn't exactly used to eating with my right hand.To speak the truth, I did not really enjoy eating the food but it was really good experience for me as I had never eaten malay food.Though I did not like it, many of my friends had a second serving.This was really a good experience for us!

Introduction

My name is Toh Zhen Huai from Hwa Chong Institution, class 1n.My hobbies are playing chinese chess and swimming. I always play chinese chess during my free time and i swim almost every once a week.If you ask me what i do not like,well i do not like those who always look down on people,especially those who criticise others who did not do as well.
I feel that the new type two assessment(ACE) is both exciting and a little difficult for me.It is exciting because it is very new to me and there will be new challenges ahead of me for me to overcome.It will definitely train me and equip me with different skills that will aid me in the future.It is a little difficult for me as it is something i had never done before and i am not sure how to do it.It's a relief as my teachers will guide me along.This greatly boasted my confidence and i am sure that i will pass my ACE with flying colours.
Another new type two assessment ,oral participation(Op),is about asking questions and say out your opinions.This is very new as in the past years , all the marks were counted by the tests ,without adding OP points.This will be another challenge for me and it will take some time for me to familarize with this points system as I do not normally speak up during lessons.But I do not think this will pull my marks down as I will try my best to speak up during lessons. Also,the tests Iam getting this year are coming much quiker than I had expected.This again will be another challenge for me as I will be forced to revise all the subjects in quite a short time.This is also difficult for me as I need to study a few more topics in a shorter time than in primary school.I also forgot to mention that the new topics are also new to me so I should have more time to learn the topics but in the end ,I only have afew weeks to study that.But I will not give up as this will be what I should be expecting in the future.
Now let us talk about old topics.The old topics should be easier to learn but I do not think so.In fact ,they are more difficult to understand than the other new subjects.All the new calculation and new assignments are really quite tough.Now the new topics.They are a little easier but as they are new ,I am still not very sure about understanding and comprehending the subjects. In conclusion ,I think this will be an intresting yet tough year ahead of me.
